Dave's love of flying began when as a young boy he watched planes fly over the San Francisco Bay area. Flying has been his beloved avocation his entire adult life. He has continued to hone his skills as a pilot by seeking new ratings, taking classes, by talking and flying with more experienced pilots, by visiting air museums and by dropping in at hundreds of airports and Fixed Base Operations in the US and internationally.

He is passionate about general aviation and has encouraged many to pursue their dreams to fly even when the goal seems unreachable. Many young family members, children of friends, and neighborhood kids, have gotten encouragement and direction from Dave about how to make their dream of flying a reality. Many have experienced their first flight with Dave.

Dave has also shared his passion for flying with the community by flying with various non profits, assisting those in need when he can and generally offering his skill as a pilot to benefit others. Those who know Dave consider him a world-class person as well as a world-class aviator.
