David A. Frazier is honored for his 32 years of service to his community as both an educator and an administrator in the public school systems of North Carolina. David graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 1984 and began teaching physical education in the Lee County school system in addition to coaching soccer, track, wrestling, football and baseball. While teaching full time, he attended night school and earned a Master’s in Education Administration in 1998. After 13 years of teaching, David assumed administrative jobs with even more responsibility culminating 20 years serving as Assistant Principal at several middle and high schools in the community. He led many vital programs that included the Focused Intervention Summer School and the Migrant Summer School.

David’s commitment to his students’ development and safety was always evident as he met each day with a sense of humor and an ability to treat everyone as an individual. Upon David’s retirement, his friends, family, and former students are proud to recognize his service to our community with this donation to the Smithsonian Institution.

    Congratulations David!
