    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert R. Graham

David H. Graham, a third generation involved in the aerospace industry, is an Aerodynamic Engineer with extensive experience in the design, analysis and testing of advanced aircraft. He earned a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland and an MS in Engineering from the California State Polytechnic University. He has specialized in aircraft drag and sonic boom reduction. For over twenty years at Northrop Grumman Corporation, Mr. Graham has performed aerodynamic analysis on aircraft and missile systems, high and low speed wind tunnel testing, water tunnel testing and engineering methods development. He has been responsible for the system design and vehicle shaping of the DARPA Shaped Sonic Boom Demonstrator from initial concept through testing. As lead engineer, he has been responsible for performing and directing aerodynamic analysis of a variety of fighter, transport, trainer, unmanned and advanced concept aircraft programs. Analysis methods for drag estimation have included Computational Fluid Dynamics, lower order and empirical methods with CAD/CAM systems including UNIGRAPHICS and CADD. He has supported wind tunnel testing involving minimum drag, stability and control, jet effects, inlet and duct calibration, missile, and stores separation testing. Mr. Graham worked on the YF-23A Advanced Tactical Fighter Program from preliminary design through prototype flight test. Additional programs include DARPA Quiet Supersonic Planform; NASA funded study of a natural laminar flow wing for a High Speed Civil Transport; proposal for the DARPA Tier 11+ high altitude unmanned vehicle; and support of the Joint Strike Fighter program.
