David Zagorodney, my father, proudly served in the US Navy from 1979 until 2000. He earned his wings early in his career and wore the uniform of.an Airdale with pride. As a P-3 aircrewman, he served his country with excellence. In 1994, he made the rank of Chief Petty Officer and retired as Senior Chief Petty Officer wearing Surface and Air Warfare designations, as well as chest full of medals including the coveted Navy Commendation Medal. Senior- Chief Zagorodney was present to record the final flight of the Challenger and to record the success of many Naval projects. My Faller's love of aircraft and space exploration carried over into his personal life as he instilled his love of the sky and her vessels in me. I am proud to see my father’s life's work represented with these other great American's.
