Received a B.S. in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, then served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator, finishing with the rank of Lt. He flew the T-34B, T-2A, T-2C, TF-95, T-28 A/C and the C-1A. Following the Navy, he worked for Aramco (the Arabian American Oil Co) in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, flying the DHC-C Twin Otter, F-27, and G-1159A. He finished here as an F-27 Captain and left for US Airways, where he flew the F-28, B737-200/300/400 and the A318/320/321 as First Officer. He also flew for Eastwind Airlines as a B737-200 Captain. Retiring early from US Airways, he then worked as an A320 Captain and instructor pilot for Airbus Training Center.
