    Delmar Lee Boeck was born September 26, 1922 in Westbrook, MN, son of Henry and Anna Boeck. He graduated from high school and was a radio technician for the Army Air Corps in Alaska during World War II. He was rotated to Norfolk, VA where he met his future wife, Marguerite Elizabeth Elliott. They were married on November 20, 1945 in Edenton, NC at St. Paul Episcopal Church. He attended Tri-State University, receiving a Mechanical Engineering Degree.

    After leaving college Del worked with mechanical components for the Sperry Corporation. In 1960, he moved to Orlando, FL where he worked for Martin-Marietta, helping to develop the Sprint anti-ballistic missile. In 1975 he moved to New Orleans, LA where he tested components for the Space Shuttle. He retired in 1986, moving to Charlotte, NC.

    Del was active in, and served as an officer of, Zion Lutheran Church, in Pine Hills, FL. He taught Sunday School, was trustee, and assisted in the maintaining of church facilities. When he moved to Charlotte, NC he became a lay minister at Ascension Lutheran Church. His hobbies included woodworking and bowling.

    He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a humorous and generous person. He lived the Christian life, and his solidity and perceptiveness were respected. His friendship and steadiness will be missed by all who knew him.
