    Denis Cornell has been dedicated to the field of aviation for almost 40 years. He served 3 1/2 years in the United States Air Force where he was formally trained as an air traffic controller.
    Afterwards, he began his career with the Federal Aviation Administration as a controller and later as a manager.
    He retired as Air Traffic Manager of Lambert International Airport in St. Louis, Missouri in May of 2002 after 33 years of service to the FAA. At this time, he was honored for his "unyielding commitment and outstanding service" as a member of the Runway Safety Action Team that helped Central Region achieve the best Runway Safety Record in the Nation for 2001 with zero category A or category B "close-call" incursions.
    During his career, Denis also served at the international airports in Chicago, IL, Cleveland, OH, Boston, MA, Bradley, CT and Minneapolis, MN.
