Honored by:
B-17 pilot in 306th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force. Shot down November 8th 1942 by three FW-190 fighters after successfully bombing submarine pen s at La Palice, France. Spent two and a half years at Stalag Luft 3, Sagan, Germany and Stalag 7A in Moosburg, Germany after eight day subzero March and boxcar ride from Luft 3 to 7A. Liberated by 14th Armored Division on April 29th, 1945.
