    Donald Henry Fischer was born April 28, 1922 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended UCLA until the outbreak of World War II, when he enlisted in the Army, and was accepted into the Air Corps. After pilot training, 1st Lt. Fischer served in the Pacific Theater of War as a P-61 pilot with the 419th Night Fighter Squadron, 85th Fighter Wing of the 13th Air Force.

    Following the conclusion of the War, Mr. Fischer attended the University of California at Berkley, graduating in 1948 with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He pursued his lifetime interest in aviation as a private pilot, and as a truly innovative design and test engineer with North American Aviation and Garrett Aviation Companies.

    Mr. Fischer died November 24, 1995 at his home in Sun Lakes, Arizona.
