    Born Aug 30, 1931. Graduated from Ukiah Union High School, CA in 1949 and from Santa Rosa Junior College with a Bachelor of Arts in Civil Engineering in 1951.

    After graduating from the US Naval Academy in 1955, entered the US Air Force and attended flight school in Malden, MO, flying T-28s, and flying T-33s in Laredo, TX.

    After checking out in the F-86D at Perrin AFB, TX was assigned to the 13th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Sioux City, IA in January 1957. Obtained a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering in 1961 at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, OH.

    Returned to flight duty flying F-102s in Iceland in 1966. Flew F-106s for four years at Air Defense Command's 4750th Test Squadron at Tyndall AFB, FL. Commander of 8th Special Operations Squadron flying A-37s at Bien Hoa Air Base, Vietnam in 1972.

    Retired in 1977 after four years at the Pentagon on the Research and Development staff.
