    Major General Donald W. Shepperd, USAF (Ret.) served in the United Sates Air Force for 39 1/2 years between active duty and the Air National Guard. He retired in 1998 from the Pentagon as head of the Air National Guard where he commanded over 110,000 personnel, 1400 aircraft, 88 flying units, and 250 support units spread throughout the 54 states and territories. He is a combat veteran who flew 247 fighter combat missions in Vietnam including 58 over North Vietnam as an F-100 Misty Forward Air Controller. General Shepperd was a military analyst for CNN during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and provided military commentary for ABC radio. He is a Distinguished Graduate of the United States Air Force Academy class of 1962 and holds a Masters degree in Personnel Management. He is an entertaining and much sought-after speaker. He was a cadet, a combat fighter pilot; an airline pilot; a line worker; a salesman; a national sales manager; a supervisor; a president; and a CEO. He served on several boards. He is a raconteur. He tells stories. He entertains and teaches. He has been called a "Renaissance man" a "Will Rogers" a "Visionary" - he talks about the past, the present and the future. He has five books available on Amazon.com. His book, Bury Us Upside Down, about the experiences of a select group of fighter pilots flying a Top Secret mission in the Vietnam War has been widely acclaimed and become a Vietnam air war classic. He retired in Tucson, Arizona near his family and grandchildren. His book, The Friday Pilots, is about a group of 20 retired military pilots who meet for lunch every Friday in Tucson.
