PFC Dorothy Kimmel was stationed at Boiling Field (now Dulles Airport) in 1943 as a WAAC (Women’s Auxiliary Army Cor.)- During that period she was one of Gen. "Hap" Arnold's drivers. She was a personable, lover of life with a keen sense of humor and dedication to her assignment. She was subsequently transferred to Wright-Patterson Field in Dayton, OH where she was in training to do aerial photography where she was a victim of a freak accident in June of 1944 and was killed while on a training mission.
She was my mother's younger sister and I am her niece.
