    Doug Gamer spent over fifty years on the research staff of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and its predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. He served as guidance and control consultant on Mercury capsule, the Scout space probe and the Lunar Orbiter. During this time he earned a number of prestigious awards, including the NASA Medal for Outstanding Accomplishment in the field of aerospace guidance and control, the Experimental Aircraft Association's Stan Ditzik Memorial Award for Outstanding Design Contribution for the development of the Electro-Fluidic Autopiiot and two R&D 100 awards for development of the Smart Compass and the Braille Mouse. He retains the honorary NASA title of Distinguished Research Associate.
