    He was born April 21,1932 in Pittsburgh, PA. He served in the USAF from November 18,1952 to November 17,1956. After ground communications and radar equipment repair school at Scott AFB, he was stationed at Anderson AFB, Guam. He received the Good Conduct Award and the National Defense Service Medal. After his tour of duty he was hired by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). For the next 26 years he was a radar technician at Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. He loved every aspect of aviation from model airplanes to 747s.
