    Honored by:
    Mr. Rick E. Vantuyl

Douglas Pike was a lifelong supporter of aviation and of aviation history. Although struck down by cancer before he could certify for a private pilot’s license, he had become an avid student of the art of being a pilot. Doug made many friends both at flight school and in the community.
He was an enthusiastic fan of the work of the National Air and Space Museum and was present for the opening day events at the NASM facility on the Mall in Washington, D.C.
