    Dr. Basil Hassan has been involved in the Aerospace Community since 1984. He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University. He is an Associate Fellow in the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Currently, Dr. Hassan is a principal member of Technical Staff at Sandia National laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While at Sandia, Dr. Hassan has been involved in research and development of computational tools for the prediction of aerodynamics and aerothermodynamics, with particular emphasis on ablation of hypersonic reentry vehicles. Basil has also served as Chair of AIAA’s Thermophysics Technical Committee and Technical Program Chair for the 7th AIAA/ASME Joint Thermophysics and Heat Transfer Conference.
