Dr. Budugur Lakshminarayana spent a majority of his forty year professional career teaching and conducting experiments in the areas of turbomachinery, aerodynamics and propulsion. He was an Evan Pugh Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Penn State University from 1986 - 2001. A faculty member since 1963, he was instrumental in developing a state-of-the-art turbomachinery laboratory. Dr. Lakshminarayana continuously strived to perfect aeronautical machinery and his work had a great impact on aviation and space exploration. He passed away in 2001 and is greatly missed by family, friends and colleagues.
