    Dr. Temes received the BEE degree from Cooper Union, the M S. degree from Case Institute, the EE Professional degree from Columbia University and the Ph.D. degree from Polytechnic University. He was a Research Scientist at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (now NASA) where he developed special-purpose instrumentation for research projects dealing with aircraft structures. He worked on the development of a machine for testing the failure properties of turbine blades due to metal fatigue and on other instrumentation devices. He was professionally involved in radar for over fifty years in various aspects of radar systems analysis including the observation and determination of ballistic trajectories in space. For seventeen years, he was Head of the Search Radar Branch, Radar Division, at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) and served as a consultant to NRL after his retirement from government service. His work at NRL dealt with the utilization of radar technology for Navy and Marine Corps systems, including the use of satellites for system applications, determination of ballistic trajectories and the detection of buried mines from aircraft. Dr. Temes has published numerous papers and has several patents.
