Dr. Eckerman was born in New York City and grew up in Great Neck, NY. He was a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Catholic University with a Ph.D. in Physics. Dr. Eckerman had a long and illustrious career that included service in the U.S. Army, 25 years at NASA, classified work on radar measurement and hyper velocity studies for Stealth at both SPC and Westinghouse, and radar measurement for the Navy at CSCI. He held numerous leadership positions including President of the International Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Washington Hebrew Congregation Brotherhood. Dr. Eckerman received innumerable honors as a result of his service to his country and volunteerism.
