    Dr. Evvard conducted and supervised research for 31 years in rocket fuels/lubricants, supersonic aerodynamics, power generation, propulsion, nuclear energy, rocket engines, etc. For the space program, Dr Evvard was assistant Dir. Of NASA (NACA) supervising six divisions of about 1,000 engineers and researchers. He was appointed Chief Scientist of the Lewis Research Center while also serving as associate Director. Evvard’s wing tip theory for supersonic wings established his reputation and was the foundation for the future work of Lewis Laboratory in supersonic aerodynamics. His wing theory methods were taught in graduate schools throughout the country.
