Our science book in grade school had a photograph of the Explorer satellite on the cover. I knew then that I would be a permanent supporter of the U.S. Space program. It has been a pleasure to speak with more than 200 astronauts in orbit via amateur radio. My space adventure story, Blackbird, was written to help others dream of the possibilities that can come through the space program. I continue to support the future astronauts and space explorers through the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation.
