"Chris" joined the Air Force in 1941 at the beginning of WWII. After Officers Training School, he was a navigator bombardier on B-29's etc. He died July 10, 1998, so I am his widow and trying to reconstruct years before I knew him. We married in March of 1954.
H was director of the Aero Space Lab at Wright Patterson Air Force Base from 1946 - 1972. He was a member of the Explorers Club with John Stapp and others being the first civilian pilot to fly over the North Pole. I have pictures of him flying weightless with John Glenn, and Shepherd (the original seven astronauts) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
