Born in Kochi Prefecture, Japan, in 1946. Emigrated from Japan to the United States in 1974, to further study airplanes. In 1979, received his PhD in aerospace science from UCLA, under the guidance of late Professor Julian D. Cole. Currently a Principal Engineer at Boeing Commercial Airplane Co., Seattle, WA. His major accomplishments include the development of a new wake survey analysis method for accurate airplane drag prediction.
