DOB 7 May 41, Ocean Beach, San Diego, CA.
After stints at UCLA and the Naval Academy, commissioned 2nd Lt. in USMC and received wings in March, 1965. Flew F-8 Crusaders with VMF(AW)-122 and F-4B Phantoms with VMFA-122 and VMFA-542 at ChuLai, RVN. Returned to CONUS in July, 1967 with over 100 misisons flown. Awarded DFC, Air Medals, Purple Heart. During combat tour, also served as a Forward Air Controller with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines.
