Mr. John Heverling
He was born Raymond Morris Heverling in October 1895 in Harrisburg, PA. He served with distinction in the US Army 1918 in France. An optometrist with five offices he married Marion Kline and raised three children; Mardeen in 1936, Raymond Jr. in 1942 and John in 1944. He gave me the gift of flight for my 16th birthday for which I am eternally grateful. I have been flying all my life and will never forget this wonderful man who I lost in 1960.
He was honest, sincere, trustworthy and ethical but most of all he was my father. I shall never forget. With much love, John.
