Dr. Zien received hi B. Sc. In Mechanical engineering from the National Taiwan University in 1958. M. Sc. In Engineering from Brown University in 1963 and PhD. In Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology in 1967. After serving as a research/teaching faculty member at Caltech and Case Western Reserve University, he joined the U. S. Navy Surface Warfare Center in 1970 as a research aerospace engineering Branch Head and Senior research Scientist (1970-Present). He is also an adjunct professor of Aerospace Engineering at George Washington University, Catholic University and University of Maryland. Dr. Zien has made significant contributions in the field of Aeronautics through research and teaching. His research in the areas of fluid dynamics and aerodynamic heating. Dr. Zien has served on several technical committees of AIAA.
