Adele Byrd, my mother, was a nurse inWorld War II. After World War II she flew civilian aircraft with my father, Clifford Byrd.
Great uncle, Admiral Richard E. Byrd, was my aviation predecessor and I have followed in their footsteps as an Army helicopter pilot (CH-47, Chinook) and am still active in the Reserves. I'm a pilot for U.S. Airways.
