Having soloed at age 16, then getting a Private Pilot Certificate at 17 and completing a degree at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott, AZ, Clark has loved both aviation and aerospace since he was a very young lad. He was often taken to the Henry Ford Museum near Detroit, Michigan where his interest in machines was sparked. The Apollo program, the film "2001: A Space Odyssey" and finally, an Air Force Cadet all cemented this spark into the desire to fly one day. Clark never gave up on that dream, finally learning to fly at Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington. While learning computer skills, he developed ideas that led to two aviation related patents. In the meantime, Clark flew the California countryside in the late 1980s. He went on to pilot turbo-prop passenger planes for United Express West-Air, then later Atlantic Coast Airlines. Clark's dream had been to fly for United Air Lines and in May of 2000, he was made a 737 First Officer. 9/11 occurred not much later, crushing many dreams and hopes. Clark forged ahead, working for Lockheed-Martin on the ground and later General Dynamics in the air. The desire to pilot the oceans was next where, for a time, Clark flew the 767 to Europe and South America. Finally, Clark was made a Captain of Boeing 767s in a private venture flying VIPs to and from Washington. Clark now flies for GEICO, having been a pilot out of the Washington Dulles Airport since 1992. He is the father of 8 children, and married to his wonderful wife, Anne-Marie. The children include Antonia, Joseph, Christian, Ioan, James, Marri, Louisa and Marcus. Though flying was Clark's original love, his wife and children have become of utmost importance now. May they always know that it was Clark's dream to fly. But his dream was fulfilled in his family. January 31st, 2014
