I have always liked flying. When I was young, I would run to see every plane that flew over. When the War was going heavy in Europe, and I knew we would get in it, I enlisted in the Army Air Corps. I was put in a heavy bomber unit, the 7th Bomb Group, a B17 group. When the War came, I was sent to the South Pacific early in a B17 Squadron, the 63rd Sq. of the 43rd Bomb Group. My combat pilot was the James T. Murphy of the Apollo 14 program. I retired out of the Air Force in 1964 and live in Southern California.
