Started flying as a 16 year old kid in high school.  Graduated from school with a private pilot’s license.  I knew from the beginning that I wanted to fly bigger, faster, jet aircraft....fighters if at all possible.  One trip to the Air Force Recruiter and I was off on a career in flying that spanned near 28 years in the military and flying various civilian aircraft.  Went to Vietnam and flew 505 hours combat on 320 combat sorties in the F-100D.  Felt like I was paying back the USA for all the training to become a fighter pilot.  North American Aviation built a solid flying steed in the Super Sabre aircraft.  Managed to get through that war without ever receiving a hit on my aircraft.  After Vietnam, came back and instructed flying in T-38s.  Purchased a 1948 Temco Swift which was a dream to fly and teach formation flying in.  Recently completed my flying career with over 8000 hours flying time during sixty years of active flying.
