EDGAR NEELY III was an Aeronautical Engineering graduate of Georgia Tech and an attorney with a law degree of the University of Virginia. He was a former international competition tennis player having played the U.S. Open, French Open, Wimbledon and other high profile tournaments. He was an accomplished pilot, holding an ATP, Learjet Type rating and Rotorcraft ratings and was the holder of a Flight Safety Professional Pilot Proficiency Card„ At the time of his accidental and untimely death at age 59 on August 13, 1999, he had more than 8,500 flight hours. He was married to the former Denise Fast of Clearwater, Florida and left four children.

He was my lawyer, frequently my co-pilot when our families vacationed together, and my very best friend.
