    Military service 19 April 1945 – 30 June 1970
    Tuskegee Airman – graduated class 46-C, June 1946. Last class to train at Tuskegee Army Airfield, Alabama.
    Command Pilot with 5700 flying hours, accumulated in PT-13; AT-6; B-25; P-47; F-80; T-33; T-28; C-47; B-29; C-45; F-84; F-86; F-106; C-54; T-29 and T-39 aircraft.
    Integrated June 1949 with assignment to 9th Fighter Squadron, 49th Fighter Wing, Misawa, Japan. Flew 104 combat missions in Korea, June 1950 – January 1951 as F-80 Fighter pilot with the 9th Fighter Squadron.
    Combat tour in Vietnam as Commander, Detachment #2, 4708th Fighter Wing, Soc Trang. Supported T-28 and TOID aircraft and pilots June 1963-June 1964.
    Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Clusters, Purple Heart, Air Force Commendation Medal, Joint Services Commendation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding unite Award, Presidential Unit Citation (Korean), Air Force Reserve Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
