    Edward R. DePol, 1st Lt. was born on July 10, 1927 in Passaic N.J. He graduated High School in 1945 and joined the Merchant Marine. In 1951 he joined the Aviation Cadet program and received his wings at Larado A.F.B. in Oct. 1952. He completed gunnery school and was assigned in Feb. 1953 to the 18th Fighter Bomber Wing, 67th Squadron at Oson, Korea. He completed 57 missions in the F86 Fighter before the Armistice was signed. Campaign ribbons and medals include: Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korea Service Medal, and Korean Presidential Unit Citation.
