    Edward Smiley Robinson February 7, 1915 – May 22, 2003
    Edward Robinson served in the U.S. Naval Air Service during WWII from March 19, 1942 to August, 10, 1946. In 1947 he started the Helicopter Aircraft Service, Inc. in Weedsport, N.Y. As the first commercial helicopter pilot in the U.S., he sprayed flowers and food crops, laid cable across the St. Lawrence Seaway and known throughout New York and Florida as the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus to crowds of children and families at holiday promotions. Mr. Robinson spent 1965-67 flying helicopters in India. He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., moved to Weedsport, N.Y. at 7 years of age -- his residence until his death.
