I had an interest in airplanes when I was old enough to know what they were. I played with them and built models. When I graduated from high school I joined the US Navy where I was schooled as an Aviation Machinist Mate. I served at HTU-1 Pensacola, FL and at HS-1 and HS-5 Key West, FL.

When I was discharged in 1957 I obtained an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license from South Georgia Tech and Vocational School and worked on light aircraft after school at Souther Field (the regional airport). Upon graduation I was hired by Delta Air Lines Inc where I worked until I retired at the Atlanta Airport.

Aviation was a career that I chose and pursued and it has been most rewarding.
