    Edwin Lampner was born on July 22, 1923 in the Bronx, New York. He served in the United States Army Air Force from January 22, 1943 until October 6, 1945. He 10 months overseas in the 8th Air Force, 93rd Bomb Group, 328th Bomber Squadron stationed at Hardwick near Norwich in East Anglia England. He flew 35 successful combat missions over Germany, Belgium, and France as the flight engineer/top turret gunner, in a B24J Liberator name “Lucky Lass”. Edwin Lampner was awarded an Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, four battle stars, and a Group Presidential citation. He returned to the United States and married Etta Schachner with whom he has three children, Bryan, Cindy and Gary. Edwin became a mechanical engineer and has since retired and lives with Etta in Boca Raton, Florida. His experiences in the war and his life reflect the honorable and admirable man whom Edwin Lampner exemplifies.
