My parents made the very difficult decision to leave their respective families behind and look for a life abroad, where they could offer their children better opportunities than those they encountered during and after the difficult times of WW2. My father started to work hard at the age of 7, providing the funds for the education of his brother and his sisters, while renouncing to his proper education. My mother contributed enormously in rising her brothers and sisters, also setting back her proper education. Both of them dedicate their lives to the well-being of their children and grandchildren, without expecting anything in exchange but their happiness. Both of them worked very hard and spent a very humble life to ensure a proper education for my brother Angelo and myself. Both of us tried to show our appreciation for their efforts by trying to succeed in our respective lives and applying to be best the sense of commitment they showed throughout their lives.

I would like to honor my parents for nourishing my curiosity and supporting all my decisions.

I would like to honor my parents for the sacrifices they made, which eventually opened the path for me for contributing to the research in manned space exploration.
