    Honored by:

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Chief Warrant Officer Two Eric B. Fox for heroism while participating in aerial flight on 8 June 2004 under great risk and threat of mortal danger from anti-coalition militia supported by Taliban fighters during Operation Enduring Freedom. Chief Warrant Officer Two Fox's actions enabled a United States Marine Corps ground unit to defeat an established ambush against their convoy during Operation Asbury Park. His expert use of the Ah-64A Apache helicopter as an aerial weapons platform and his calm demeanor under extreme circumstances throughout both engagements not only saved him and his crew, but saved the United States Marine convoy from destruction in an ambush from three sides. Chief Warrant Officer Two Fox's valorous actions are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, Task Force Diamondhead, Task Force Wings, Combined Joint Task force 76, and the United States Army.
