    Following active service in the Royal Air Force, Eric Myall has maintained a life time interest in rotary wing aviation. He is a well-known and highly respected aviation historian. Having authored a number of books and articles on the early helicopters flown by the armed services in the 1940s and 1950s. In particular Eric has written at length about the Sikorsky Hoverfly and its introduction to service in the UK. He has been a constant friend of and regular visitor to various aviation museums around the world, including the Smithsonian Air And Space Museum in Washington, DC.
