    Honored by:
    Charles Breithaupt

My father, Ernest T Breithaupt was a naval aviator, Lt jg in WW2. He enlisted shortly after Pearl Harbor with his younger brother Charles W Breithaupt Jr, who was killed in action in June 1945( U.S. Navy, USS Lagarto).
Dad was trained to fly the PBY Catalina and received his Wings of Gold in Corpus Christi, Tx where he met my mother, Ruth Breithaupt. They were married in Washington State just prior to his planned deployment overseas.
Throughout his long and successful life, he loved everything aviation, especially US Navy aviation. Our family were frequent visitors to Pensacola NAS and many others. He instilled his love of aviation in all of us, as I have my pilots wings also. The tradition continues with my grandson and his love for aviation. We have visited both Air and Space museums and the love of all things aviation continues. His legacy continues.
