She was generations too early to participate herself, but Estella A. (McNairnie) Smith (dec. 1986) followed space exploration avidly and rejoiced as advancements were achieved. Mrs. Smith's contribution to space exploration was made through her son, an aerospace engineer, whom she encouraged throughout college and supported in his career with sustained excitement for mankind's exploration of the last frontier.
