Ethan has been visiting the museum since he was a baby. It is his absolute favorite place to go and knows every inch. He loves to take others there and be the tour guide. It really sparked his fascination with space and continues today. If you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up he will say “an astronaut”. His goal is to be on the first mission to Mars which he just found out that kids in pre-school like him right now in 2014 will be old enough to take that first mission. Ethan has been fortunate to witness some amazing events at the museum including the Fly In every year but more importantly the arrival of the Space Shuttle Discovery in 2012. We were there when it flew in and at the ceremony. It was truly a memory to treasure. He also had the treat of getting a special package from Dr. David Hilmers ’72 of Cornell College who flew on several missions on the Discovery. He was kind enough to send autograph photos and mission patches which Ethan was thrilled. Even though Ethan just turned 5 in 2014 we hope he continues his love of space for many more years.
