Gene worked for Pan American Airways for over 44 years. He started as a steward on the old flying boats and is the last surviving member of the crew that completed the first commercial "round the world" flight.
One of Gene's suggestions was to put "P.A." systems on the planes as well as music. Gene was in charge of all stewardess training for Pan Am for many years before returning to his first love of flight service shortly before his retirement.
