Starting with Pitcairn Aviation in 1928 at the age of 16, Ish retired as a Lead Foreman in the Depot-level maintenance facility of Eastern Air Lines in 1972. He was one of the first 5 men to earn a 40-year pin with Eastern. He worked on aircraft ranging from the PA-5 and DC-3 hanging in the museum to the Lockheed L10-11.
Because of stories of the Mailwing days, I now sit in the left seat of a DC-9 myself.
