Mr. Francis M. Adams was a 1st LT during the World War II. He was awarded the DFC for a mission over Japan during July 1945. The crew left their base on a mission to Japan. Their B-29 Bomber lost an engine due to ground fire while on the bomb run over Kobe, Japan. They continued with the run and Lt Adams acting in the capacity of Radar Bombardier-Navigator released the bombs on target. The report reads that the crew displayed professional skill in bringing the plane back 1,700 miles to Guam. Lt Adams has also been awarded the Air Medal and Bronze Star. He returned home and became an attorney in 1949.
