    Honored by:
    Mr. Scott Marmont

Francis Carrin, a Florida native born in 1903, got started in aviation maintaining a Curtiss JN-4 ("Jenny") aircraft for a wing walking act. The job ended when the walker fell off. However, he was able to use his skills to get hired by Pan American World Airways in 1930. He became a flight engineer, serving on the Sikorsky, the Commodores, and Martin flying boats. Transferred to San Francisco in 1946 he was assigned at various times to the DC-4, the Lockheed Constellation, the Boeing B-377 Stratocruiser and the Douglas DC-7. He retired in 1963 while assigned to the Boeing 707, an aircraft he truly enjoyed. He died in 1997.
