    Honored by:
    Mr. Mike Babyak

Frank Babyak was involved in aviation his entire life. He owned an airplane before he bought a car.
Frank was a devoted husband to Helen Babyak and father to four children. Frank's love of aviation was passed onto his children: sons Mike and Dennis are currently Captains with USAirways, daughter Laura a Flight Attendant with American Airlines, and daughter Susan a retired USAirways Flight Attendant.

Frank enlisted in the Army and served during World War II. After his service, he returned to his aviation roots and joined the Federal Aviation Administration and worked in the Flight Service Station in Cleveland, Ohio. He began to yearn for warmer weather and to work in an air traffic control tower. He became an Air Traffic Controller at Key West Tower in Key West, Florida, and went on to retire from Tamiami Tower in Miami, Florida. Tamiami Airport was one of the busiest General Aviation airports in the country.

During his life, Frank would fly any airplane when given the chance. He flew a Lincoln Beachey Pusher in the 1953 Detroit Air Show. He also made three parachute jumps using WWII surplus parachutes in a sky-diving club.

During his retirement from the Federal Aviation Administration, Frank stayed very busy, flying various corporate jets, Cessna Citation, Learjet, and Sabreliner for professional golfers, including Lee Trevino and Chi Chi Rodriguez.
