Quit school at age 17 to join US Navy on February 8, 1944. Served on USS LST 375. Was employed for 38 years in aerospace industry, manufacturing guided missiles. Always had keen interest in airplanes and visited National Air and Space Museum whenever in the Washington, DC area.
