    Frank Engel has enjoyed a lifelong commitment to aviation. He served over four years as an aircraft mechanic aboard the U.S. S. Wasp achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer during World War II. After his service in the Navy, he continued his aviation career with Republic Aviation and Grumman Aerospace Corporation of Long Island, NY having worked first as a mechanic and then moving on to foremen his focus was always to do a top level job. This resulted in his having worked on the Lunar Excursion Module at Grumman which landed on the Moon in 1969. He is very proud to have had a small part in what has been one of aviations greatest achievements. He remains tremendously interest in aircraft, space exploration and all things regarding aviation in his retirement today.
