    Honored by:

Frank Pregano was born in 1933 in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania. He is a father of 9 children, a loving husband to Evelyn Pregano and follower of Jesus Christ. Recruited from the National Guard at the age of 16, Frank served with the United States Army during the Korean War. As a veteran himself, Frank contributes to the Wounded Warriors Project and many other organizations that help the under-privileged.

With a love and passion for aviation, Frank dedicated 55 years of his life to both Continental Airlines and United Airlines. As a lead mechanic, Frank trained, managed, and served with a team of individuals who looked up to him greatly for his commitment to his work and to his family. As a testament to his leadership, Frank retired from United Airlines at the age of 80 with 150 plus colleagues and friends by his side.

In 2008, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded Frank with the prestigious Charles Taylor Award at the National Air & Space Museum in Chantilly, Virginia. Qualifications for the Charles Taylor Award exude excellence as nominees require 50 years of service in aviation maintenance, with at least 30 years as a certified FAA technician. Frank's name is honorably displayed alongside other master mechanics in the Chicago O'Hare airport.

Post retirement, Frank served as a volunteer with the National Air and Space Museum and is pleased to be on the National Air and Space Museum?€™s Wall of Honor for his service. In addition to his service, Frank found his way back into the airport, as an Airport Chaplain at Washington Dulles International Airport, his home away from home.

Frank continues to live a life of service ?€“ to his family, to his friends, to the under-privileged and to missionaries around the world spreading the word of Jesus Christ. He resides in Fairfax County, with his beautiful wife and family.
